CD IELTS LISTENING; test assesses your abilities in listening, reading, writing and speaking – in less than three hours.
There are two types of IELTS: Academic and General Training. Listening and Speaking are the same for both tests, but the subject matter of the Reading and Writing sections differs. Depending on which test you take. The Listening, Reading and Writing sections of all IELTS tests are completed on the same day, with no breaks in between them.
Practice IELTS Listening
In third world countries PBT (paper based tests) are the most common ones. AKA the only formal mean of evaluation in practice for centuries is PBT based in the region. Computer Delivered IELTS Test is just introduced an year ago. Fortunately or unfortunately during COVID19, CD IELTS has suddenly become a Santa for all those students/applicants trying to take any English Language Test. Whilst, there is NO other authentic language test is available than CD IELTS, neither in near future.
Computer Delivered IELTs TES or PBT based IELTS..
CD IELTS Test content is almost the same as PBT with a subtle alteration. However, students are still finding it hugely different and displaying reluctance to consider it as an equal substitute for PBT. No-doubt, handling computer during the crucial time of their test, when they are struggling hard for every number. There’s a chance that this distraction from Computer-management could hinder their best skill-level and probably influence their score eventually. To add a TIP here for CD IELTS LISTENING TEST, getting general and free-time listening from News, Documentaries or for the Entertainment could probably trick listening score high. As it’s a proven fact that in IELTS LISTENING Test students feel more comfortable, focused and at ease than in PBT based test. If their skills of listening is at articulate level they can score high.
Test format – Listening
You will listen to four recordings of native English speakers and then write your answers to a series of questions side by side. As you wont get the recording another time. You could go back and forth on Qs 1-40 however, you will hear the recording only once. You will get some time after the end of the recording to counter-check your answers.
1 – Conversation between two people set in an everyday social context.
2 – Monologue set in an everyday social context, e.g. a speech about local facilities.
3 – Talk between up to four people set in an educational or training context, e.g. a university tutor and a student discussing an assignment.
4 – a lecture on an academic subject, e.g. a university lecture.
Assessors will be looking for evidence of your ability to understand the main ideas. Detailed factual information, the opinions and attitudes of speakers. The purpose of an utterance and evidence of your ability to follow the development of ideas.

The word ‘Sections’ was changed to ‘Parts’ – The Part 1 example was removed.We have also removed the page number references.
In Part 1, there is a conversation between two speakers (for example, a conversation about travel arrangements). Part 2, there is a monologue in (for example, a speech about local facilities). The final two parts deal with situations set in educational and training contexts.
Part 3, there is a conversation between two main speakers (for example, two university students in discussion, perhaps guided by a tutor).
Part 4, there is a monologue on an academic subject and the recordings are heard only once. The IELTS Listening test will take about 30 minutes; the four parts of this practice Listening test are presented over four separate web pages. Make sure you move swiftly from one page to the next so that your practice is as realistic as possible. Keep on practicing sub-skills such as listening for documentaries; news or regular entertainment stuff in English Language. Try to get used to, to listening in English Language.
